Tay and I got to go on a long-overdue date night over the weekend. We haven't been on too many dates since we had Billie, if I'm being honest. If we go anywhere, she usually goes right along with us. Thankfully she's a wonderful baby and we love being with her! But it's fun every once in a while to go out on an adventure with just the two of us.

We headed up to Midway on Friday evening to eat dinner at Zermatt Resort's steak house, Z's Steak and Chop Haus. Tay and I actually honeymooned in Midway, so we have a special place in our hearts for that pretty, pretty part of Utah. It's a nice little getaway from "the valley" and it almost feels like you get transplanted into another world once you make it out of Provo Canyon. Aka it's a nice getaway that's really not all that far away.

Taylor is, for lack of a better term, "high-maintenance" when it comes to steaks. So, needless to say, when he's impressed with a cut of meat, it's kind of a big deal. We both got filet mignon for dinner (his less cooked than mine lol) and hello, it was delicious. The steak basically melted in our mouths and it was accompanied by the most perfect side of potatoes and veggies. Plus, as far as steak houses go, their pricing is really, really good. We were very impressed.

An awkward selfie in the bathroom because it was the first time I'd gotten "ready" all week so I took a photo in a mirror covered with smudged finger prints. But also, no shame in selfies. If you wanna take a pictures of yourself, take a picture of yourself. No explanations necessary, yo.

Anyway, it was a fun night. One of my favorite parts, however, was walking outside to the prettiest summer storm. The humid breeze got more and more intense until it brought with it a loud, thundering sky and bright flashes of lightning streaking across the clouds. We got into our car just as the rain started hammering down around us. Trees were losing branches, the roads became rivers, and it was glorious. The best kind of weather, in our opinion, is stormy weather. It was the perfect end to our little date night.
