"Wait, you only got me four tacos?" I responded, when Taylor passed me the bag full of food he'd just brought home. He stopped and looked at me with a quizzical expression on his face, "CaLea, the most tacos you have ever eaten at once [since we've been married] was four tacos. Why would I get you more?" I stared at him blankly, unsure why I was so upset over the fact that I only had four tacos (and not a million). Taylor's eyebrows raised, "What?"

I just looked at him for a moment before a thought crossed my mind and, without saying another word, I made a run for the bathroom. Taylor followed me, completely confused. Minutes later, sitting on the bathroom floor, we stared down at a little "+" sign on an at-home pregnancy test. I was instantly overcome with more emotions than I could even begin to express (some of which were emotions I didn't even know existed). And of course, since I was pregnant, all of those emotions were expressed by one simple reaction: tears. Taylor wrapped me up in the warmest, most loving embrace, and we sat there for a long while-- we were going to be parents!

We weren't exactly "trying" for a baby, but more importantly, we weren't NOT trying (that's a long and detailed story in and of itself-- ask me about it sometime. I'm still trying to decide whether or not it's something I want to share on social media). So, the little positive test result came as a surprise to both of us. But I am a firm believer that God sends down little bundles of joy exactly when they are supposed to come into this world. I believe with all my heart that this little baby came down right at the perfect time and I couldn't be more grateful for the sacred opportunity to be it's mother.

We are so excited to take one the challenge of parenthood together. I couldn't imagine a better father-to-be than Taylor. He's loving, patient, goofy, and always so happy. I can't wait to share this man I love with a little baby that we got to create together. So many feels!!! We're extremely excited to see how this little baby bump will change our lives.

So, here's to the little nugget growin' in my belly!
